Background

Barclay & Co. CA was formed by Grant Barclay B.Com CA in 1992 following many years as partner in other small to medium (and latterly international) accountancy practices.  The firm is a member of and is regulated by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

We deal with clients of all types and sizes from individuals who simply require an annual tax return to multi- million pound turnover companies. The business is based in Linlithgow, West Lothian but geographically we have a number of clients based overseas and our UK clients range from the Shetland Isles to the south of England.  Over the last 30 plus years, Barclay & Co. CA has grown year on year with excellent client retention rates.

  Unlike most practices 50% of our staff are either qualified Chartered Accountants and/or Chartered Tax Advisors.  We believe this allows us to provide the best possible service and advice.  Many of our staff also trained or worked in top tier international accountancy firms before joining us.  Most of our staff have been with the business for 10+ years delivering much desired continuity of service for clients.

  Regular face to face contact with clients in a relaxed setting. Meetings can be arranged out-with normal office hours. Convenient central location between Edinburgh and Glasgow, close to good road networks.  Office location is out of the town centre with onsite parking.
• Value for money
  Initial meeting without charge or obligation.  Fees can be agreed in advance and monthly payment plans arranged to spread the annual cost.  We can concede that there are other (often franchise) providers of accountancy services who will be cheaper but (in our experience) who merely “process” the information they receive and do not provide the essential ongoing advice which is part and parcel of our service.
